Enniskerry (5/2) landed the Ballymore Irish EBF Kilbegnet Novice Chase in good style under Michael O'Sullivan.
The Jeremy gelding went past Sole Pretender before the third-last and stayed on well to beat Midnight Run by four and three quarter lengths. He had beaten the runner-up by slightly further when winning on chase debut at Galway.
Winning owner/trainer Barry Connell, doubling up along with O'Sullivan after Low Style in the handicap hurdle, said: “The form has worked out and he has beaten him (Midnight Run) a similar distance again today. He’s very slick to jump. He got in tight to one down the back but other than that was dynamite.
“He never won a bumper but chasing is his game. We were pretty confident coming here today and thought he’d come on a bit from Galway.
“After Galway I said we were looking at the Drinmore. We might take in a Grade 3 at Cork next month but the Drinmore is definitely his target. He’ll have no bother staying two and a half miles on a flat track. It’s a good stiff finish there and he wasn’t stopping.
“The ideal thing would be to keep him going to Christmas and then give him a bit of a break in January and February and have him for the spring.
“It’s beautiful ground here, they have done some job on it.
“Michael is the next superstar. He’s riding all mine and is in three days a week with me. He didn’t look like a 7lb claimer going around there!”
