English raider Hajoum scorches home
Mark Johnston sent Hajoum over from England to land Dundalk's feature race, the www.dundalkstadium.com handicap over seven furlongs, by a length and a quarter from Greatwallofchina
Johnston's wife Deirdre was delighted to scoop the almost 14,000 euro first prize with the 4/1 joint favourite. She said: "Who needs Longchamp when you have Dundalk? Seven furlongs suits him best. Greg (Fairley) gave him a good ride and he travelled well and was never in danger.
"We'll have a think about future plans as everything is soft ground at home. The prize money is great here though." Hard Rock City finished third. Joint favourite Sean Og Coulston came fifth.
