Favourite backers went home happy from Wexford as Deutschland took the finale, the Gorey Race under Pat Smullen for trainer Willie Mullins and Scottish owner Allan McLuckie.
Now a nine-year-old, the American-bred son of Red Ransom was gaining the ninth victory of his life and his first since July of 2009. The versatile performer gamely saw off Cloudgazer and Lady Imola who dead-heated for second, by half a length.
Gary Davies representing Willie Mullins, said: "It's great to see the old horse back to his best.
"He had a nice run in Bellewstown the last day so it may be the start of a come-back for him.
"He is entered in plenty of races at Galway and he might run up there." (DM & EM)
