Empirico ran out a game winner of the Easter Saturday Family Race Day At Dundalk Handicap at odds of 7/1.

Dave Marnane 's charge was produced to challenge over two furlongs from home by Colm O'Donoghue.

He got the better of Airspace inside the final furlong to post a half length win.

Winning trainer Marnane reported, "He's had a lot of problems in the past, we've always liked him and hopefully his problems are in the past."

"It's great to get off the mark. We'll probably try and find something similiar for over five or six furlongs."
