Emiyna pleases punters
Emiyna got punters off to a good start on the polytrack at Dundalk this evening when justifying strong support in the seven furlong three-year-old maiden.
The 5/4 favourite (available at 5/1 with William Hill this morning) challenged wide in the straight under Johnny Murtagh but only got on top well inside the final furlong to beat well-bred newcomer Ballroom (12/1) by a length.
Winning trainer John Oxx said: “That looked a useful maiden and she's a nice filly. She's shown a lot of speed at home but is bred to get further. She's fairly adaptable ground wise, and will go next for the Athasi Stakes at the Curragh.”
