Veteran rider Ian Power was back in the winner's enclosure for just the second time this season when Elsannah (11/2) scored in the the 2m7f handicap hurdle.
A never nearer fifth over a shorter trip at Limerick last time, the daughter of Mores Wells took over in front from 3/1 favourite Tangental at the second-last and was ridden clear to defeat that rival by five and half lengths.
Power enjoyed a notable Grade One winner aboard Master McShee at Limerick's Christmas meeting in 2021.
Winning trainer Shane Crawley said: “She’s an out-an-out stayer really and loves these testing conditions. She’ll be interesting over a fence.
“Grellan Dunne is a savage owner and just lets me do whatever I want.
“We’ll want the ground to be safe for her so she won’t be one for the summer.”
