Gordon Elliott completed a short-priced double, when following the earlier success of Paul Carberry on Oscar Hill his sister Nina stepped into the breach to get Spring Lane home the convincing winner of the concluding One Day At A Time INH Flat Race at Downpatrick.
Spring Lane went off at 4/5 and his supporters never had too much to worry about as the son of Exit To Nowhere was sent on with half a mile left to race. He asserted from over a furlong out on the way to a sixteen length dismissal of Sceptre And Crown
Elliott said: "That was grand though again it wasn't a great race.
"The owner (Mrs McConnell) has been with me since before I even had a licence, when I was training point-to-pointers.
"This horse wants two and a half miles and it is good that mine are running well ahead of next week." (GC & EM)
