Galway Festival clues could be on offer in the feature race of the day at Limerick today.
The Galway Plate Trial Handicap Chase is a prize worth winning in its own right but many horses in the field will have grander aspirations in the big race of the summer on August 2.
Gordon Elliott won the Plate 12 months ago with Lord Scoundrel and saddles Mountain King and Rohan's Pride in the Limerick race.
Owner JP McManus is triple-handed with Hash Brown (Michael Hourigan), Marchese Marconi (Joseph O'Brien), and Rock On Fruity (Charles Byrnes).
Recent Down Royal runner-up Net D'Ecosse looks an intriguing runner for Noel Meade, while Heron Heights must shoulder top weight for the Henry de Bromhead team.
De Bromhead is also represented by The King Of Brega who won well over hurdles at Downpatrick three weeks ago, and Full Cry
Stephen Mahon chances his arm with Champagne Harmony and Mayo National runner-up Aranhill Chief with Tony Martin's Phil's Magic also of interest on his just his second start for the Summerhill handler.
Connections of Eight Till Late, Knockraha Boss and Ocean Glandore - the three reserves - must play the waiting game.
