Elliott completes Grade 3 double in 20minutes
Trainer Gordon Elliott’s hot streak continued when his Gigginstown House Stud owned Blood Crazed Tiger under David Mullins, landed the Listed Paddy Power Acca Insurance EBF Novice Hurdle at Cork today.
The keen running son of King’s Theatre, a course and distance winner last month, attempted to make all the running and while headed by Screaming Rose before the third last, rallied well to regain the lead jumping the final flight before staying on gamely for a length and a quarter win, over Screaming Rose.
Elliott, earlier successful with Tell Us More in another Grade 3 race at Naas just 20 minutes earlier, was at the Co Kildare venue but his assistant Olly Murphy later stated “he’s not the most straight-forward horse in the world, but David gets on well with him. He’s good and tough, and is going the right way.
“He did everything right today, he’s just a tough, hardy, genuine horse, and will be a grand horse going jumping fences. He’ll only be a horse next year, so whatever he does now is a bonus."
