Egan records first winner
The in-form Kevin Prendergast supplied seventeen year old Darren Egan with his first winner when taking the opening race on this afternoon’s card, the Go Racing At The Curragh Nursery Handicap with the Lady O’Reilly owned Diva Dolce
Egan originally from Longford raced the daughter of Domedriver in behind the leaders, the pair led from inside the final furlong and kept on to well to hold off the challenge of Della’alba under Gary Carroll by half a length.
Winning trainer Prendergast said afterwards: “It’s great for the kid, he’s a very good worker and he’s very light too.”
