Egan off the mark after homecoming
John Egan partnered his first winner since returning to Ireland when giving Champagne Blitz a good front-running ride in the six-furlong maiden at Dundalk.
The Muredach Kelly-trained filly held on grimly as Cheveyo and Fedora both flashed home in the closing stages.
"I'm only back about a week. My kids are over here now and for me they come first," explained Egan on his decision to relocate.
The Galwayman is set to freelance and said: "I'll ride for whoever wants me."
