The Tommy Stack trained Time Of My Life provided a result at Wexford today which any handicapper would lose sleep over, romping away with the lowly Black Point Handicap, on his handicap debut, rated just 47.
The well bred son of Galileo was bought for 150,000 British Guineas as a yearling but showed nothing in three starts at two, at trips ranging from five furlongs to a mile.
However a vastly improved Time Of My Life turned up for today's 1m3f event, and having been backed from a best price of 6/1 in the morning, returned the heavily backed even money favorite. The winner then blitzed his vastly inferior rivals, with Green Chorus finishing second, 15 lengths away.
Stack was not present but winning jockey Wayne Lordan later said “Time Of My Life improved with the step up in trip and did well over the winter. He was a weak looking horse last year and I don't know where he'll go next.”
Time Of My Life holds an entry for the 1m4f (47-70) handicap at Roscommon on Monday, and were he to run, would 'shoulder' a 5lbs mandatory penalty!
