Dusk lands opener for Morris
Mouse Morris was back among the winners, following his Cheltenham success mid-week, when Baily Dusk ran out a game winner of the opening maiden hurdle at Cork today.
Morris, who saddled First Lieutenant to Neptune Hurdle glory on Wednesday, was not on hand to see the 14/1 shot's battling effort to get off the mark at the fifth time of asking.
The Dushyantor gelding had shown only glimpses of ability before today but proved a willing partner for Martin Ferris.
He turned into the straight along with Barel Of Laughs and went on at the second last to get the better of that rival by a length-and-three-quarters.
"Mouse only got back from Cheltenham last night so he's at home today," reported Ferris afterwards.
