Yesterday's Royal Ascot winning connections jockey Wayne Lordan and trainer David Wachman recorded a winner at Leopardstown today, claiming the opening Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Maiden with well supported 4/5 favourite Sudirman
Lordan steered Wachman's Duntle to win the Duke Of Cambridge Stakes yesterday and moved Sudirman (15/8 in the morning and heavily backed throughout the afternoon) clear of his rivals inside the final furlong for an easy win over Home School
Wachman was not present for the win but Lordan later stated “turning in he was 'climbing in the air' a bit but when I gave him a smack behind the saddle he went forward well. He was very green on his first run and learned a lot from his second run. He's one to look forward to for the rest of the year.”
