Bungle Inthedesert (7/2jf) provided his sire Bungle Inthejungle with a second winner at Dundalk this evening, landing Friday 12th July Ladies Day At Dundalk Handicap (Div I) for jockey Siobhan Rutledge and trainer John McConnell.
Rathasker Stud's Bungle Inthejungle was responsible for earlier impressive winning debut juvenile Morning Vietnam while Bungle Inthedesert himself shed his maiden status on his sixth attempt, beating gambled Daonethatgotaway (morning 20/1, returned 9/2) by a half-length.
Following the race Rutledge said “he was there to be shot at and had plenty to do in the last furlong but in fairness to him, he did it. Thankfully, we stayed in front and was good and game.
"He's actually a nice type, is by a good sire and seemed to enjoy the mile, so that will give us some more options."
