Ducky Mallon recorded his fourth career win and second at the Curragh when landing the Luke & Nellie Comer Memorial Handicap.
The six-year-old gelding is owned, trained and bred by Donal Kinsella at Dunleer, and pounced inside the final furlong to score at odds of 11/2.
Niall McCullagh ’s mount led about 100 yards out in this six-furlong event, and kept on really well to beat Enter The Red by a length. Meetyouatthemoon was a further three quarters of a length back in third.
Kinsella said, “The times are fast but he (Niall) tells me the sting has gone out of the ground. He’s by Jeremy and has been caught out a few times on fast ground.
“It’s always nice to get a winner on the Curragh, and we’ll try to get him a bit higher in the handicap and get into one of those good races on Irish Champions Weekend.”
