Duchess looks on upgrade
Duchess Of Foxland is set to be stepped up in class after running out a cosy winner of the Madrid Handicap on her return to action at the Curragh.
Emmet McNamara produced the filly to lead travelling well a furlong-and-a-half from home and she stayed on strongly in the closing stages to score by a length-and-three-quarters from Money Trader
"She's been working very well at home. She has matured and streghtened up well. She probably didn't grow a lot but has filled out," said trainer Mark Fagan.
"She done a lovely bit of work here ten days ago. We're delighted with that.
"After a performance like that I'd hope to go for a bit of black type with her. We'll see what the handicapper does and how she comes out of this.
"We could go for the Derrinstown Guineas Trial at Leopardstown next Sunday."
