Ducey off the mark at Tramore
Ardmore, Co Waterford based Garry Ducey recorded his first winner as a trainer when Aughnacurraveel under Mikey O’Connor, ganed a poignant win the Stradbally Maiden Hurdle at Tramore today.
The son of Tajrasi tracked the leaders before improving to lead on the run-in, for a length and a quarter winner over Traffic Article
Ducey was in the unfortunate position not to be present for his maiden success but his neighbour and representative on the day Michael Coakley explained “Garry’s father Garrett Ducey held the license until his sudden death last November. The Turf Club then granted Garry the temporary license.”
“Garry, along with 15 others, is currently attending the trainers’ course to properly gain the license and has four horses in training at present.”
