A point-to-point winner and a half-brother to a Grade 2 winning chaser in Lord Who, Measureofmydreams (11/8) got favourite backers off to the perfect start at Punchestown, landing the sportinglife.com Beginners Chase under Bryan Cooper.
The Gigginstown House Stud-owned chasing debutant's fencing was completely without blemish but it certainly didn't hold him back and Willie Mullins' charge proved stronger from the last than Mr Diablo crossing the line with two and a quarter lengths in hand.
There was four and a quarter lengths back to a one-paced second favourite, Arctic Skipper in third.
Mullins said: "He jumped well, and I'd say he's going to be a better chaser than a hurdler. He'll improve going out in trip, and is one of our staying types."
