The Albert Dravins and Eamonn Scanlon ownership alliance struck for the second time in November at Fairyhouse when Tucanae took division one of the Easyfix Equine Maiden Hurdle.
Dravins and Scanlon were on the mark ten days back at the County Meath venue courtesy of the Noel Meade-trained and Sean Flanagan-ridden Jeff Kidder.
Flanagan is of course a Wexford man, and there was Model County involvement with Tucanae too as she’s trained at Davidstown by Paul Nolan.
Bryan Cooper rode the 7/4 second favourite and she beat 5/4 market-leader Fiston Des Issards by three and a quarter lengths.
“We took a chance and went for this instead of the mares race which looked good. Her 7lb allowance cancelled out her 7lb penalty for winning a bumper and thankfully it’s worked out," said Nolan.
“She had a mark of 115 and hopefully we can go for a handicap. We made a mistake running her over 2m6f in Punchestown as she didn’t get home. We dropped her right back and hopefully she’ll keep improving.”
R.J. Condon, rider of Sienne D'or trained by P.A.Fahy, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount made a respiratory noise in running.
