Drama in opener at Galway
There was carnage at the first flight in the Kenny Group Maiden Hurdle at Galway with almost half the field wiped out. Dylans Secret looked the main culprit as he dived left and fell under the feet of the oncoming runners.
The field in behind was then decimated as Bluebell Rock Document Gimli's Rock Save My Blushes and Twenty Bags were all brought down in the chaos. Amazing Hyde got rid of John Cullen in spectacular style independently at the back of the field.
The loose horses caused problems at the second as leader Action Master cocked his jaw, and tried to follow them as they veered across the hurdle, unseating Roger Loughran.
The race went to Golan Go who proved a comprehensive victor. Barry Geraghty let his mount go on four from home.
He stayed on strongly in the closing stages to score by six lengths from Roseska
"It probably turned into a bad race," admitted trained Paul Magnier afterwards.
"He's a nice little horse but was a bit disappointing last time when I didn't want him so far back as he's a stayer being by Golan.
Listowel could be on the agenda for the winner: "We'll see what's about and how he is after this."
Ruby Walsh was stood down for the day after the fall from Twenty Bags, reported sore after the incident.
