Ricky Doyle had some unfinished business coming to Kilbeggan today, but the capable 7lbs claimer put that right by steering his first winner at the Co Westmeath track in the Greville Arms Hotel Mullingar Handicap Hurdle, on the Ronnie O’Leary trained Queeny
Doyle lost several teeth when his mount Much Wants More slipped up in a heavy fall at the track in September 2015 and today got off the mark at the venue when steering a second win on Queeny, following the pair’s previous win at Thurles last December.
Trainer O'Leary later said “she's back to herself; she was brought down the last day and it shook her a bit so we gave her a little break.
"I was a bit worried when I saw the rain coming but they seemed to be getting through it fairly well."
Winning owner Paul Hillis hails from Bannow, Co Wexford.
