Double-Up for the Mullins'
Patrick Mullins completed the third double of his career when he drove the newcomer, Fionnegas to a convincing ten length success in the Ardfinnan Flat Race. He had earlier partnered Florida Pal to an equally emphatic victory in the opener.
Willie Mullins endured the misfortune of seeing his Captain Conflict break a leg in the preceding race but looking to the future with Fionnegas, he said: "He'll make a nice chaser in time but if he could win a winners bumper before the end of the season that's what he'll do. He'll go hurdling next season."
Fionnegas carries the colours of Eamonn Duignan, who has seen Barker flourish since joining the Closutton team with a couple of wins lately. (EM)
