Double for Meade as Still Point delivers
Noel Meade completed an across the card double (Jakros won in Cork) as his Still Point ran out an comfortable winner of the 7f Barclay Communications EBF Maiden under Fran Berry.
The son of Invincible Spirit raced in third for much of the race before getting to the front inside the final furlong, racing clear to win by a length and a half at the finish. Dodging Bullets kept on gamely to take second with Red Army Blues a further half a length back in third.
Winning trainer Noel Meade said afterwards "John Oxx had him last year and he was very backwards then, I was lucky to get him. He is a nice big horse and that’s his trip."
The winner was backed from 5/2 on track into 7/4fav.
