Quickpick Vic ran out an impressive winner of the bumper at Naas this afternoon, providing his trainer Tony Martin with a double on the card (earlier scored with Dedigout .
Ridden by Robbie McNamara, the 6yo son of Old Vic, made all and eased clear three furlongs out going on to score by thirteen lengths at the odds of 7/2.
The Noel Meade trained, Nina Carberry ridden Couleur France was sent off the 5/4 favourite and he finished second while the Aidan O’Brien trained newcomer Angel Chorus finished a further length and a half back in third under Sarah O’Brien at 7/1.
The winner was having his fourth career start this afternoon, having finished second on his first two outings and third last time out behind Azorian at Leopardstown.
Tony Martin said afterwards: "That’s a real good horse. He has been unlucky a couple of times as things just didn’t go right for him.
"He is as good a horse as I have. He is really a Cheltenham horse and you might see him there next year over hurdles. He might go for the bumper at Aintree now."
