Double for Foley on Aisya
Shane Foley recorded a first and last race double when stepping in for a winning spare aboard Aisya in the concluding www.thetote.com Handicap.
Rory Cleary missed his rides tonight after picking up a viral infection.
It was compensation for trainer Norman Cassidy, whose Big In Japan had been beaten by Foley's mount Benwilt Barney in the opener.
Foley came with a strong run inside the final furlong to post a length-and-a-half success over long-time leader Nawshewisnae
It was a first success under rules for Cassidy since Extended Favour won at the Punchestown Festival in April 2006. The County Dublin handler only has two Flat runners, both in action tonight.
"I reckon she wants better ground and she could run again at Tramore next week."
