Alan Magee
Double delight for birthday girl
Jane Mangan, successful earlier on Luke's Benefit and celebrating her 18th birthday, completed a near 40/1 double when partnering Carries Darling to a hard earned win in the mares bumper.
The teenager, who has now ridden four winners under rules as well as three between the flags, was seen to good effect as the four-year-old daughter of Flemensfirth, an 8/1 chance, led about a furlong out and kept on well to beat Oscars Business (5/2) by a length and a quarter.
Winning trainer Jimmy Mangan said, “She's a well bred mare and found the ground too testing at Galway last time. She may go now for a mares bumper at Navan in a few weeks time.”
