Double Double spells trouble for punters
The concluding bumper at Naas today helped complete a good day for bookmakers with victory going to the Charles O'Brien trained Double Double (20/1), under owner/rider Paul McMahon.
McMahon held the son of Sakhee up in rear before making progress early in the straight, eventually hitting the front a furlong out, staying on well for a nine lengths win over 4/7f Fort Defiance
Afterwards O'Brien reported “I was just a bit concerned he wouldn't stay two miles as he is not bred for this job! He has a fair bit of speed and will now go for the Landrover Bumper at Punchestown in April.”
