Double Double records second win
Owner/rider Paul McMahon partnered his Goffs Landrover Bumper runner-up Double Double to win the concluding Irish Racehorse Trainers Association 60th Anniversary Bumper at Leopardstown today, scoring for trainer Charles O’Brien.
The son of Sakhee, a winner at Navan on his debut, ran out the one length winner over newcomer, and full horse, Maytide (remarkably a half brother to American Triple Crown-near miss Smarty Jones).
Following Double Double’s win, trainer O’Brien stated “I’m not sure where we go with Double Double next but he will probably be put away now – he may be kept for the Cheltenham Bumper next season.”
