Don Vincenzo surged home to cut down Feel The Air and win the extended two mile five handicap hurdle at Downpatrick by a length and a quarter.
Colin Bowe 's charge was a 14/1 outsider (nibbled at from 16/1) for this seven-runner contest.
He was in third place jumping the last but finished the race off best under Sean Flanagan to collar Feel The Air (7/2) in the closing stages. Hurry Kitty was a further length and a quarter back in third.
Colin Bowe said: "The race was probably run to suit him as they went very slowly. He showed plenty of form early but he lost his form.
"He'll probably go and jump a little fence. He wants a bit of nice ground."
Cheekpieces were fitted on Don Vincenzo for the first time today.
Don Vincenzo's other career victory came in a Limerick maiden hurdle last December.
