Thrifty Of Digby produced a game front-running performance to gain a deserved success in the three-year-old handicap at Gowran Park.
The Jessica Harrington-trained filly had been knocking on the door and was fitted with cheekpieces this afternoon.
Shane Foley bounced out in front on the 9/1 shot and she was strongly pressed by the well-backed 4/1 favourite Goldrush Kid passing the two furlong pole.
The daughter of Profitable dug deep and fought off her rival in the closing stages to post a length-and-a-quarter win.
Harrington said:- “She’s had no luck all year and a horse went down beside her in the stalls at Sligo which frightened her.
“Today we got everything right which is great.
“I thought she wanted quick ground and she handled that great, so what do we know!”
