So Devoted justified the decision to turn her out again quickly when running out a cosy winner of the Bulmers Original Music Night Handicap at Leopardstown.
Pat Smullen took the brave route on the 3/1 favourite in the straight as he went for a gap on the rail to challenge front-runner Patrickswell
The Bill Farrell-trained filly got to the front a furlong from home and stayed on well in the closing stages to post a two-length winning margin over the long-time leader.
The daughter of Holy Roman Emperor had run a fine race in defeat when second at the Curragh last Sunday.
It was a third winner in a week for Farrell at the Dublin track as he had also saddled a double here last Thursday: “It was a bit of a rush back for me. She didn't have a saddle on her since Sunday and was out in the paddock. When I brought her here I thought she might be too fresh.
“She's done it nicely but hopefully the handicapper isn't too harsh on her. It took me 18 months to figure out how to train her.
“She's a nice filly and deserved that. I'm getting to like Leopardstown!”
