Design lucky for Oliver
Andy Oliver took the opening race this afternoon at Naas when his charge Luck Or Design landed the Titfrums EBF (C&G) Maiden in the hands of Chris Hayes.
Hayes soon led on the son of Dubawi and the pair were clear from over one furlong out and kept on well to hold off the short-priced favourite Encompassing by five lengths.
Winning trainer Oliver said afterwards: “We’ve always thought a lot of this horse and he’s always shown us plenty at home.”
“He disappointed a bit last time out but we just put it down to greenness and he did it well today. "
"Chris (Hayes) said he picked up well for him and he’s got a great cruising speed and is a very straight forward type.”
"I think he's a very good horse and we've always liked him and he'll make a good stakes horse."
