- Dead Heat in Fairyhouse opener
Dead Heat in Fairyhouse opener
The opening Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auction Maiden saw a thrilling finish with Zabaleta and Isis Song battling it out. The Judge was unable to split the pair and a dead heat was called.
Ken Condon’s charge Zabaleta who made most of the running was joined by the staying on Isis Song 150 yards from home.
Joe Murphy said afterwards: “She’s really a seven furlong filly and she’s improving all of the time.”
“We have her in the Debutante Stakes and the Moyglare, so we’ll take it from there.”
Ken Condon stated: “That was nice, we lost out on a tight finish last night so it was great to get this even if we have to share it.”
“Declan [McDonogh] said the ground was plenty quick enough for him. He was getting a bit lonely out in front, he would have preferred a bit of a lead.”
“He’s a very nice colt and we’ll step him up to stakes company next. He has always shown us plenty and there’s plenty of improvement to come.”
