Owner J.P. McManus gained a measure of compensation for the loss of his once promising Alvisio Ville at Fairyhouse today when his De Name Escapes Me routed his rivals in the Hire2k Rated Novice Hurdle.
Alvisio Ville's injuries suffered following his blunder in the opening beginners' chase unfortunately proved fatal but his rider Mark Walsh experienced better fortune on De Name Escapes Me, which gave weight and a thrashing to seven rivals.
Winning trainer Noel Meade, who landed both the Clonmel Oil Chase and Cork National among ten winners in November, was today completing a double and later stated “I like him and he likes soft ground.
“My worry today was the trip, and I'm inclined for going back to two miles. He's got plenty of boot."
