Days Hotel good on chasing bow
A half-brother to Travino, it was always likely that Days Hotel would excel in the chasing sphere and the Oscar six-year-old began in pleasing style in the Dobbins Panoramic Restaurant Beginners Chase under Andrew Lynch at Punchestown.
Second in his only try 'between the flags,' Days Hotel put that experience to good use here, leading two out and he had well-backed favourite Nearest The Pin well held when that one made a mistake at the last.
Henry de Bromhead trains Days Hotel for Jim Treacy and he said: "He did it well and jumped well. We've always felt that this would be his game.
"I'm not sure what was going on with him early last season but he finally showed what he'd been doing at home when winning at Clonmel.
"We'll probably stick to around two miles for the moment, though on better ground he might want a bit further." (EM)
