Loveisthehigherlaw made a winning debut for trainer Paddy Twomey at Cork today as the daughter of Group 1 winning racemare Sweet Stream landed the O'Flynn Group Fillies Maiden under jockey Bill Lee.
Five to four favourite and fellow newcomer Search For A Song was withdrawn at the start having failed to load and in the race Loveisthehigherlaw quickened well between horses to lead in the closing stages and score a three parts of a length win over Camphor
Lovethehigherlaw's dam Sweet Stream was the best flat performer, from few runners, for national hunt stallion Shantou and following the race Twomey said "she is a lovely filly and Charles and Noel sent her to me as a yearling and she has always been very nice.
"Her dam won the Prix Vermeille and even though she is by Kodiac, her dam is by Shantou and she appreciated the ten furlongs there.
"She was just ready to start today and Billy said she came alive in his hands and pricked her ears at the finish.
"She is a very well bred filly and her owners have a stud farm so we'll see where we go (regarding black-type races)."
