Gopsies Daughter emerged on top after a thrilling finish to the five furlong handicap at Navan this afternoon.
Denis Hogan 's good run continued as the Captain Rio filly secured her second course and distance win this season.
Killian Leonard produced his mount on the outer to lead passing the furlong pole but she was headed in the closing stages by Blastofmagic as Rego Park Lady also threw down a strong challenge.
Gopsies Daughter rallied gamely to get her head back in front on the line and secure a head success over Blastofmagic.
The 8/1 winner had also scored at the track in early June and Leonard said afterwards:-
“She put her head down. She got headed but she dug deep today.
“She kind of in and out of form this season but I'm happy with the way things are going with her. The sun on back just keeps her a little bit fresh.
“She seems to like this place. I've won on her twice so far here from three rides this year and also finished second on her here last year. I think she likes a stiff five.
“Denis' horses are flying. He had a couple of winners in Bellewstown last week and had horses run well in Cork last night. It's all going well and hopefully I can bag a few more for him during the season.”
