The Rodger Sweeney trained Danequest gained his maiden win over hurdles at Limerick today when winning the Oakbruce Properties Handicap Hurdle under a well judged ride from Adrian Heskin.
The son of Stardan was produced late by Heskin before staying on well on the run-in for a length and a quarter win over 5/2f Montrel
Sweeney was absent but his son Colman Sweeney later stated “he had been working well and I told Adrian to arrive with him late and in fairness he gave the horse a very good ride. He (Danequest) will go to Dundalk for a 1m2f handicap on October 25 next.”
