Daly Tiger could hardly have been more impressive on his debut under rules when taking the bumper at Thurles in effortless fashion.

The French-bred, who fell on his only point-to-point start at Horse And Jockey earlier this year before being snapped up by Gigginstown to join Noel Meade, was well-backed here from 5/2 into 7/4.

Nina Carberry oozed confidence on the Gigginstown-owned gelding, who cruised past Uisce Beatha just inside the final furlong.

She hardly moved a muscle as her mount stretched clear to score by an impressive four lengths, with Ozzie’s Way 11 lengths further back in third.

The 5/4 favourite The Big Lense who won a point-to-point in convincing style at Cragmore, weakened over a furlong out to finish sixth.

Meade said, "We thought he was fairly sharp and he's much sharper than those bumper horses we've been running and has more pace. The danger was he has been doing everything so easy that he really hasn't been taken off the bridle.

"I'd assume he'll go straight over hurdles now and unlike a lot of them (Gigginstown House Stud-type runners), you wouldn't be afraid of running him over two miles.

"Sean (Flanagan) rode him work before he ran in a point-to-point last year and liked him and when he went to the Sales, we were lucky enough Eddie (O'Leary) bought him for us to train."
