Trainer Jessica Harrington and stable jockey Shane Foley completed Galway doubles today as Dairerin proved a popular winner of the Claytonhotelgalway.ie Handicap for the Sniper Alley Syndicate.
The son of Spill The Beans landed a gamble at Limerick earlier this month and arrived into today's seven-furlongs race officially two pounds well-in, having finished third at Naas on Wednesday.
Dairerin raced prominently and quickened clear of his rivals to beat runner-up Bells On Her Toes by a length and a quarter.
Harrington, earlier successful with Pivotal Trigger in the juvenile maiden, stated “he (Dairerin) has been amazing since we have got the handle on him. We'll probably run him again on Wednesday over a similar trip.
“It is fantastic and I'm delighted for the lads involved.”
Dairerin carries the colours of the Sniper Alley Syndicate which includes Mark Landers, captain of Cork's 1999 All-Ireland hurling winning team, and jockeys' agent Ciaran O'Toole.
