Dainty double for Wachman and Lordan
David Wachman and Wayne Lordan teamed up to record a double when Dainty produced a gutsy front-running performance in the Fillies Handicap at Roscommon.
The daughter of Storm Cat made every post a winning one and stuck on gamely in the closing stages to record a two-length victory. Strandfield Lady tried to throw down a challenge over a furlong out but could never get on terms with the winner.
"She's a good tough genuine filly. This is her trip and we'll find a similar race again for her," said Wachman. The Silver Crown got upset in the stalls and unshipped Gary Carroll when the gates opened.
