Cyborg takes last for Byrnes & Quinlan

The concluding race on this evening’s card, the www.pacon.ie (Q.R) Handicap was won by the 9/10 favourite Cyborg in the hands of Roger Quinlan.

Charles Byrnes charge travelled well on the outer to take up the lead over a furlong out.

The pair had to work hard close home to hold off the challenge of Paramount and Katie Walsh by a short head.

Winning trainer Byrnes said afterwards: “It was very tight but in fairness to him he pulled out when Katie got to him.”

“We’ll go to Galway for something I’m sure whether we’ll go for a hurdle or something on the flat.”
