Curragh Grey score for Neville

Restricted trainer Patrick Neville recorded his first winner since May of last year when Curragh Grey took the Malton.com Handicap Chase in the hands of Sean McDermott.

McDermott came with a well timed run to get up and lead on the run-in and deny long time leader Rumreelic by a length and a quarter.

Winning trainer Neville said afterwards: “That was badly wanted, the horses have been sick and I lost a couple of owners too.”

“We’ll look for something much the same over three miles. We fancied her today she had some good form and she was sick the last day.”

“I just hope the handicapper won’t be too hard on her.”
