Miners Bridge (8/1) got off the mark on his third start over flights when taking the Killarney Plaza Hotel & Spa Maiden Hurdle under Phillip Enright.
A point-to-point winner for Sam Curling last year, the Mahler gelding tracked the leaders and went third approaching the straight. In front between the final two flights, the seven-year-old was pushed out to account for Jeu De Pic by four and a quarter lengths.
Curling trains the winner for the CKC Syndicate which includes jockey valets Michael and Liam Cleary and Corkman Ross Keohane.
Enright said: "The three miles at Cork the last day might have stretched him a bit so we were hoping that he would run well again today as he was dropping back in trip. He jumped great and loved the good ground.
"It is great riding for Sam who doesn't tie you to too many instructions and he told me to ride him as I find him. The way he jumps I'd say he will be a nice horse over a fence."
