Cristy's Call (Mick Hussey up) gained his second victory from twenty starts when following up a couple of close second placings with a good win in division one of the Crowne Plaza Hotel Race & Stay Handicap at Dundalk.
Backed from 8s into 6s 'in the ring,' Cristy's Call (travelling best at the two pole) got to the front over a furlong out, staying on strongly inside the last to defeat the well-backed favourite Vim (9/2 into 7/2) by three and three parts of a length.
With the aid of crutches having broken his ankle out hunting, triumphant handler Gavin Cromwell reflected: "I'm delighted for the horse – he tries his best.
"He was mugged here last time. Hopefully the handicapper won't be too hard on him now and he'll come back here for something similar.
"I've got four in training at the minute." (MG & EM)
