First-season sire Cracksman registered his first Irish winner today, as 410,000gns yearling purchase Madly Truly landed Naas' opening Irish EBF Median Sires Series (Fillies) Maiden for trainer Joseph O'Brien.
Ridden by Dylan Browne McMonagle and drawn widest in 15, the once-raced filly raced prominently throughout and at the line was all-out to hold runner-up faster-finishing Sibyl Charm by a head.
Afterwards O'Brien later said “she had a good run first time out and is a big, strong scopey filly. They went a good gallop and she just tied up a bit in the final 50 yards.
“We like her and we’ll look at something like the Listed race on Champions Weekend. We might give her more time than that.”
Madly Truly was Dalham Hall Stud-based Cracksman's seventh winning juvenile from his first crop.
