Good As Hell again showed her liking for Tipperary when prominent throughout to take the Tipperary Town Plate Handicap Chase.

The Philip Fenton-trained mare was gaining her sixth career win and her fourth at this venue but went off an unconsidered 16/1 shot here having failed to trouble the judge both over hurdles and fences this year.

Niall Moore ’s mount was in front before halfway and despite getting in close at the last when facing a number of challenges, kept on strongly in the closing stages to beat Mister Wilson by two and a quarter lengths. Presenting Lad could find no extra on the run-in a further two and three-quarter lengths back in third.

Fenton said, “That’s her fourth win around here and back over a shorter trip.

“She was able to dictate things and Niall rode her well. She nearly gave it away at the last but she got back on track.

“Two miles on a flat track suits her and she also likes going left handed.

“She’ll keep going for the moment and I’m sure she’ll make a broodmare at some point.”
