Young apprentice Sean Corby delivered Fast On to come through and pick up the mile handicap in Gowran Park.
The Verglas gelding was getting his head in front for the first time on his 27th run. He kept on nicely in the final quarter of a mile and took the honours by two and a half lengths at 7/1. Erins Gal at 16s was second and he beat Zero Euro into third by three parts of a length. The 9/2 favourite Consonance came in 13th of the 15 that went to post.
Sean Corby said: "It is brilliant to have a double. He is a grand old horse and it is good to get a winner for Seamus. I rode work for Seamus during the week and he said I could take the ride. Shane Foley rode him the last day and he said not to drop him back, and to rush him out of the stalls, so I did that. He battled on well for me."
Seamus Fahey added: "He likes that sort of ground and trip and I'll try and find something similar for him now."
This was Corby’s seventh winner and his first double. He won the second race on the card on Sophie’s World.
