Cool keeps Moon at bay
Billy Lee got Keep It Cool home in the concluding bookings@ dundalkstadium.com Handicap but it was the thundering late burst of the runner-up Cry For The Moon that had most people talking.
Declan McDonogh was forced to pull his mount from the rail to widest of all to launch his challenge and ultimately he appeared to be a most unlucky loser as he failed by just a head to catch Keep It Cool.
Pat O'Donnell trains Keep It Cool for William O'Brien and the Limerick handler said: "That's my second winner here so it's been quite a lucky place. This fellow was placed here twice before and he obviously appreciates the surface.
"We could have some fun with him on fast ground over the summer. He'll probably go to Tipperary next for a hurdle in three weeks and we'll mix it with him." Leaves You Baby was backed from 8s into 7/2 and she ended up finishing sixth whilst Dearest Girl was one of plenty who didn't get a 'run' when required as the race unfolded.
